How PSYCH-K® Helped Me Heal from Abuse and Neglect

Trauma is not just what happened, it's also what didn't happen. It's those times when care was absent when it was needed. It's also those times that something hurtful was done. It's the event itself and all the unhelpful beliefs and perceptions that persist as a result of the event. Those beliefs can include:

  • "I don't matter"
  • "My needs are unimportant"
  • "I am unworthy of care and consideration"
  • "I deserve abuse"
  • and more...

One of the most unfortunate realities is that these beliefs then perpetuate painful dynamics going forward. Psychologists have termed this phenomenon repetition compulsion. In this sense, I then became my own abuser and co-created hurtful situations going forward. To cope with these situations I became highly compliant, passive, and over achieving. I internalized my feelings, thoughts, wants, needs, and dreams because I felt as though I had no one with which to share them and actually felt unworthy of them. I failed to remove myself from hurtful situations and deprived myself of rest, reprieve, and sometimes even dignity.

The problem is then that trauma can beget more trauma and incidentally understanding the trauma, in my experience, does little to actually heal it. After trying therapy, meditation, breathwork, and psychedelics, all of which made me aware of my trauma, the only thing which actually healed it for me was PSYCH-K®. The reason is that awareness, which is our conscious mind, is often not enough to transform the subconscious mind. Research shows our subconscious mind is about a million times more powerful than the conscious mind and is running the show 95 - 99% of the time given the conscious mind can only intentionally engage 1 - 5% of the time, the subconscious was for me necessary to reprogram. However, after the age of seven, it can only be reprogrammed through a handful of ways including:

  1. Trauma — Not helpful...
  2. Repetition — Attempting to use the conscious mind to override the subconscious
  3. Hypnosis — Results vary by the skill of the hypnotist and the process can be invasive
  4. PSYCH-K® — The most efficient and effective method I've encountered for subconscious reprogramming and what I use with myself and clients. If you're curious, book a session
The effects of abuse and neglect were complex for me and so healing from them required peeling back layers and diffusing each trigger one by one over time through PSYCH-K®. This was for me an iterative process, but once I balanced a trigger it remained balanced indefinitely. I just took me time because I had many unhelpful (even harmful) triggers, perceptions, and beliefs each of which I  needed to transform one-by-one. The specific balances I found most helpful in this process are:
  • Transformation of Perception of Stress ("TPS") — This process is useful for quickly processing the traumatic memories. It facilitates the creation of inner peace around the event. That peace is sustained indefinitely post balance
  • Life Bonding Balance — This process helped me feel more at peace with life instead of at odds / resistant to it
  • Messages Protocol — Emotions carry messages and the more the message is missed, the more intense the emotion grows. This protocol helps to discern whatever message the situation or condition is trying to communicate so that it can be fully received and then integrated into our being
  • Core Belief Balance — This process is a kind of catch-all designed to create greater harmony mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I felt much lighter once I completed this Balance. In my experience, it only needs to be done once
  • New Reality Protocol — This protocol is a way of getting guidance from our future selves who are already living the life we would like to create and experience. I find it extremely helpful in getting from where I already am to where I would like to be mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually
  • Relationship Balance  Looking in the mirror, I completed this process to balance my relationship with myself so that I could be more at peace with myself. I also did it via surrogation with another PSYCH-K® facilitator to balance meaningful relationships which weighed on my heart
  • Individual Balances — Completed for the most part through either the New Direction Balance or the Resolution Balance. These balances are always phrased as present tense "I" statements that are positively oriented and emotionally meaningful. Often they are the opposite of whatever self-detracting belief we hold. For example "I hate myself" would instead become "I love myself".

It's important to note that individual balances are neither affirmations nor toxic positivity. Instead, they are statements we would like to be true and intentions that are set during the balancing process which facilitate a somatic experience and energetic shift. The transformation is sustained indefinitely post balance.

I find PSYCH-K® Balances to key in transforming my mental, emotional state and to aligning myself with my spirit. They produce a somatic experience and energetic shift that unlocks potential. That potential is then made manifest through our actions and the actions are much easier to do when the subconscious and conscious minds are both supportive of them.
