How PSYCH-K® Healed My Trauma, PTSD, and Complex PTSD

I've experienced a lot of wonderful things in life and a lot of very painful things including significant childhood trauma (mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and financially), one-off traumatic events as an adolescent and adult, and generational trauma. Without the tools to process these traumas I shoved them down out of my awareness and unknowingly began living in survival mode. My coping mechanisms included hyper independence, social isolation, workaholism, excessive partying, and more. I was completely disconnected from myself and suffering deeply. Eventually, all the pain caught up with me and I began having debilitating panic attacks at work, which inspired me to seek the help I so desperately needed. I tried therapy, meditation, breathwork, and psychedelics. Each was helpful in increasing my self awareness, but I still felt stuck as I compulsively did as I normally did. Apparently understanding my why wasn't enough to transform it...

I learned later that I was stuck because the conscious mind only has capacity to engage 1 - 5% of the time and the remaining 95 - 99% is determined by the subconscious, which is running on autopilot. Additionally, the subconscious is estimated to be a million times more powerful than the conscious mind so it's near impossible to override. Further, after the age of seven the subconscious can only be changed in a handful of ways including:

  1. Trauma — Not helpful...
  2. Repetition — This method is the conscious mind attempting override the subconscious mind...
  3. Hypnosis — Results depend on the skill of the hypnotist and the process can be invasive
  4. PSYCH-K® — The process I found most helpful in my healing journey

Here's what PSYCH-K® Balances helped me in my recovery:

PSYCH-K® Balances to Address Trauma

PSYCH-K® is like a swiss army knife. In my experience, it's helpful for resolving trauma, facilitating emotional regulation, transforming mindset, and more. The process of working with PSYCH-K® and trauma can be iterative if the situation is complex. Or it can suffice to do one balance in the case of a one off event such as a car crash. That said, even one off events can have layers that need to be peeled because in addition to the event itself, there may have been unhelpful beliefs which come out of it that may be useful to transform. Here's a breakdown of which Balances I use and when around trauma:
  • Transformation of Perception of Stress ("TPS") — This process is useful for quickly processing the traumatic memory itself. It facilitates the creation of inner peace around the event
  • Messages Protocol — Emotions carry messages and the more the message is missed, the more intense the emotion grows. This protocol helps to discern whatever message the situation or condition is trying to communicate so that it can be fully received and then integrated into our being
  • Core Belief Balance — This process is a kind of catch-all designed to create greater harmony mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I felt much lighter once I completed this Balance. In my experience, it only needs to be done once (ever)
  • New Reality Protocol — This protocol is a way of getting guidance from our future selves who are already living the life we would like to create and experience. I find it extremely helpful in getting from where I already am to where I would like to be mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually
  • Relationship Balance  May be helpful if the trauma experienced was relational. Looking in the mirror, I completed this process to balance my relationship with myself so that I could be more at peace with myself. I also did it via surrogation with another PSYCH-K® facilitator to balance meaningful relationships which weighed on my heart
  • Individual Balances — Completed for the most part through either the New Direction Balance or the Resolution Balance. These are the processes used to transform any unhelpful beliefs and perceptions that came out of the traumatic event into helpful ones.
  • And Other Balances depending on the situation / condition...

Balances can relieve the emotional turmoil of trauma and any self sabotaging behaviors which have their origins in trauma. If you'd like to try PSYCH-K® on your healing journey, book a session.
